After a long and successful day at the dog agility trial, Kathy and I decided to sit back and relax, order in some Italian food and go over all the great run we had on this spectacular day.
To go with the Coca Pazzo of Morris Plains, NJ, I’m getting steak giambatta and Kathy’s getting some type of pesto pasta, I decided to try a Italian red that I haven’t had yet. It is the Lucciaio from the heart of the Pieve Del Escov, Umbria IGT, Italy, red blend of 45% Merlot, 40% Carbenet Sauvignon and 15% Sangiovese. At 13.5% alcohol and $15, let’s see how this wine adds to the beauty of this beautiful evening.
It was a dark purple with a very exciting fruity nose. A well balanced wine. Kathy really liked it. Not hot at all. Silky but not really creamy. Good from a start to a long finish. No real bad flavors whatsoever and has a nice deliciousness factor. For $15 it is a very good buy and an excellent wine.
